The Monster Hunter franchise has never really been hugely popular here in the West, well that was until the release of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Nintendo Wii U. The Wii U struggled at launch due to a poor selection of available games but Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate saw massive increases in unit sales with France reporting a 300% increase while the UK enjoyed a 115% climb in Wii U sales. I don't even consider myself a Nintendo fan but I was excited enough to purchase the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Edition and I don't regret it a single bit.

Japanese PlayStation fans have been left without a Monster Hunter title since the release of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd for PSP and PS3 in 2010 and 1011, and maybe its time for them to move to a new monster hunting franchise.
